| In Spring 2000, I organized a group of nine Americans (2 female, 7 male) who attended the spring cycling program. Below are some of their comments. These comments motivated me to put together a group for Spring 2001. |

"I am definitely in (for 2001) ... I want to get ... some of my friends ... to join us next year ... You should also get in touch with the New York Cycle Club ... I told a bunch of these people who went to (another camp) how much better my trip was ... Anyway, keep me posted and let's get a good group to go this year ... " |

"I was just talking about my trip to Mallorca this morning to a fellow cyclist. In addition, Mary Ann and I have been telling people what a great time we had and expect that we'll have several more candidates for you for next year's trip." |

"I ride in Northern Westchester and Conn. Great fun. Only problem is that there are no real long climbs (unless I go to Bear Mountain). The mountains of Majorca are the cure. After typically 20 miles of spinning on the flats, which was really necessary to loosen up my legs for the mega rides of 70 to 100 miles, we would hit the mountains (... not every day though). Outstanding panoramic views as you climb (typically about 4 miles ... sometimes also longer). Lots of hairpin turns but not murderously steep. The climbs worked my quads and I was rewarded by fast winding downhills where I got to practice my descending skills by staying close to the experienced descenders like Hajo. Every ride was an adventure. Traffic was never a problem. Weather is typically on the mild side and dry. Hajo worked hard as our leader and made sure we were well taken care of. The spring training camp also gave me an early goal as I wanted to be in decent shape to take full advantage of a week of super miles." |

"I had a very good performance at Killington this year. I won the first stage (Brandon Gap), and ultimately finished 3rd overall GC. ... Those long climbs with you in Majorca certainly helped me last weekend. I'm glad that The Ride finally published my note- you earned and deserved everything I wrote. ...joining you again in Majorca is high on my list of things I would like to do ... In the meanwhile, I have been recommending your program to many of my cycling buddies. Several of them are interested ..." |

Bob also sent a letter to "The Ride," which was published in the August 2000 The Ride-issue, page 7:
Last year Hajo decided to formally organize a group of Americans to attend the Swiss Bicycle Team training program held in Majorca. Since virtually all of the business at the Swiss program is conducted in German, it would be very difficult for a non German-speaking American to attend this program on his own. Except for airline reservations, Hajo handled all of the details for us. He even used his extensive familiarity with the roads of Majorca, to lead several very good training rides for us. Furthermore, while at the hotel, he did everything in his power - probably at the expense of his own training - to make sure that our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Hajo is not a professional tour organizer - he has a responsible position at a major international bank. Like the rest of us, he tries to fit cycling into a very busy life. Organizing this years American Majorca expedition took many hours of his time. Hopefully he will be encouraged by the positive feedback from participants like myself and will organize more Majorca trips in the future. If he does, I would highly recommend this program to your readers." |
